School Held the “2024 Chinese New Year” Party for International Students

On the afternoon of February 6th, the school held the 2024 Chinese New Year’s celebration for international students to experience the "Chinese New Year". Vice President Liu Yinfang attended the event, teachers from the College of International Education and more than 30 international students attended the event.

At first, Liu Yinfan wished all the international students a happy Spring Festival and hoped that they would cherish the opportunity to study in China and serve as a bridge of friendship between China and the rest of the world to promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.

During the event, students from Thailand, Russia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan sang beautiful songs to express their holiday wishes. Then students were able to experience the charm of the excellent traditional Chinese culture, by way of the playing of the Guzheng performance, Erhu solo performance, and Peking Opera performance which were elegant.

A variety of cultural activities were also arranged for students to acquire a deeper understanding of the traditional customs of the Chinese Spring Festival. With scissors and colored paper and following the teacher's guidance, students successfully cut out a series of paper-cut works. The writing of Spring Festival couplets allowed them to experience the unique charm of Chinese calligraphy. Then they were able to enjoy the cultural experience of making dumplings, here everyone sat together and individually made fillings and dumplings to taste the flavor of the Chinese New Year.
