The 2019 China University Student Formula Car Competition was held in Xiangyang, Hubei from October 8th to 12th. The Yaoyuan Formula Racing Team and the "Yaoyuan No.1" racing car made their debut on behalf of our university on this field, and competed together with 65 other universities. The "Yaoyuan No. 1" racing car successfully passed the test, completed all events of the competition. They finally won the honorary titles of "the Most Influential Team" and "Outstanding Contributors of the Competition".
During the five-day race, the team worked together to cope with the challenges with the spirit of a newborn calf being afraid of nothing, and successfully completed the static competitions such as cost defense, marketing defense, and design defense. After passing many different tests on the driver's escape, vehicle inspection, and side-tipping, noise, braking, and efficiency, they successfully completed dynamic competitions such as 8-shaped loops, high-speed obstacle avoidance, and endurance competitions.
Supported by the Society of Science and Technology Innovation of the Automobile School, the Yaoyuan Formula Team was launched on September 28, 2018. With the strong support and help of the school leaders and relevant departments, and under the careful guidance of the teachers of the Automobile School, the team poured much sweat and effort, spending 10 months on modeling and simulation analysis, process and tooling design, component manufacturing, vehicle assembly, tests and adjustments, etc. Eventually the first formula car "Yaoyuan No. 1" was successfully put into drive and achieved the goal of "one year, one team and one racing car".
