From April 19 to 20, the 2025 Malaysia International Chinese Language Teacher Teaching Competition, organized by the Confucius Institute of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), came to a successful conclusion. A total of 19 public dispatch teachers, volunteer teachers, and local teachers from eight Confucius Institutes (classrooms) in Malaysia competed on the same stage, showcasing their talents and promoting mutual learning and growth through the competition. Deans and teacher representatives from various Confucius Institutes (classrooms) observed the competition.
The theme of this competition was "Empowering Chinese Education with Digital Intelligence and Being a Wise Educator." It encouraged participants to innovate the application of digital technology and artificial intelligence in teaching to enhance classroom interactivity and effectiveness. The competition also invited experts in international Chinese education from Malaysia to serve as judges. The judges highly praised the teaching abilities of the participants and pointed out that the competition fully demonstrated the great potential of technology-empowered Chinese teaching.
After fierce competition, one champion, one runner-up, and one third-place winner were selected, along with five excellence awards and one award each for the Best "Chinese + AI" Teaching Innovation and the Best Subject Knowledge ApplicationAward.
Professor Liu Yinfang, Vice President of Dezhou University and a member of the Confucius Institute Council of UTAR, delivered an online speech, stating that the Confucius Institute of UTAR has always been committed to promoting the professional growth of international Chinese teachers. Teachers use the competition as a platform to learn from each other, make progress together, continuously improve their teaching level, and enhance their digital literacy, showing the style of international Chinese teachers in Malaysia.
Professor Zhong Zhiqiang, Vice President of UTAR, said that the competition provided a platform for international Chinese teachers to showcase their talents and learn from each other. With their excellent teaching skills and innovative educational concepts, the teachers demonstrated the important role of artificial intelligence in international Chinese education and showed the infinite possibilities of Chinese teaching. He hopes that the Confucius Institute of UTAR will continue to promote the deep integration of technology and education and contribute to the innovative development of Chinese education.
The successful holding of this international Chinese language teacher teaching competition provided a platform for teachers to learn and exchange teaching skills, stimulated their teaching enthusiasm, further improved the level of teaching innovation, and promoted the development of international Chinese education in Malaysia.
