On January 13th, the second meeting of the 2024 Joint Management Committee for the Energy and Power Engineering major between Dezhou University and Gdansk University of Technology was held in the 5th Conference Room of Houde Building. Liu Yinfang, Vice President of Dezhou University and Director of the Joint Management Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Józef E. Sienkiewicz, ViceRectorof Gdansk University of Technology and Deputy Director of the Joint Management Committee, Christian Jungnickel, Rectors’ Representative for Cooperation with Asiann, as well as the heads of the International Office,FacultyofElectrical and Control Engineering, Faculty Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology, and all members of the Joint Management Committee participated in the meeting.
In his speech, Liu Yinfang, on behalf of the school, expressed gratitude to Gdansk University of Technology for its support of the cooperative education program in Energy and Power Engineering. He then introduced to the Polish side the progress of the program, the requirements of the review and evaluation by the Ministry of Education, and the work plan for 2025.He pointed out that over the past year, under the leadership of the Joint Management Committee, both Chinese and Polish sides have carried out teaching work in strict accordance with documents such as "Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Education" and its implementation measures. Efforts have been made to improve the quality of talent cultivation, and strict management and supervision have been exercised throughout the process of Chinese-foreign cooperative education.He emphasized that 2025 will see the first batch of graduates from this program. The quality of talent cultivation for these graduates is crucial to the sustainable development of the program. In particular, the postgraduate entrance examination enrollment rate of graduates is a key indicator of the program's high-quality development. Meanwhile, in 2025, this program will face the first evaluation of Chinese-foreign cooperative education by the Ministry of Education. This is a comprehensive review of the program. Through this evaluation, the management of Chinese-foreign cooperative education will be further standardized, and the level and quality of Chinese-foreign cooperative education will be improved.Both sides should take the convening of this Joint Management Committee meeting as an opportunity to establish an evaluation working group, formulate an evaluation work plan, strengthen the rectification of problems, and ensure a high-quality and smooth passage of the first evaluation.
Józef E. Sienkiewicz, ViceRectorof Gdansk University of Technology, highly appraised the cooperation achievements of both sides. He affirmed and expressed gratitude for the work done by Dezhou University in the friendly cooperation and exchanges between the two universities. He stated that the Polish side would continue to strongly support the cooperation between the two universities. Further support would be provided in aspects such as the dispatch of Polish teachers, joint postgraduate cultivation, and the co - construction of courses, so as to ensure the smooth passage of the first - round evaluation by the Ministry of Education for the project.
At the meeting, the committee members deliberated on each item one by one. The "Decision on Changes to the Members of the Joint Management Committee" and the "Decision on Changes to the Members of the Teaching Steering Committee" were reviewed and approved. The two sides had in - depth discussions and reached consensus on a number of issues, including preparations for the upcoming project evaluation by the Ministry of Education, the teaching work of Polish teachers in China, exchanges between teachers and students, teaching quality assurance, and joint scientific research.
