On June 18th, the Institute of Astronomical Sciences held the first session of “Astronomy Lecture” academic conference. This conference was organized by Prof. Zhang Tongjie, a specially invited professor of "Tianqu Talents" to our school. The experts: Researcher Luo Ali from National Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Senior Engineer Yue Youling, and Prof. Ma Yinzhe from the University of KwaZulu-Natal of South Africa. They gave an online academic report through the Tencent conference. More than 40 experts, scholars, industry professionals and graduate students from Beijing Normal University, National Astronomical Observatory, Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory, Sichuan University, Qilu Teachers College and Academy of Astronomical Sciences attended the conference.
The meeting was held in accordance with the overall requirements of the school’s discipline construction. The College of Information Management is assigned to promote the development of key astronomy big data processing and analysis, which aims to expand the academic vision and scientific research ideas of the teachers and provide a powerful forward movement for the advancement of astronomical science research and discipline construction in our school.
