Professor Shen Han from Nanjing University was Invited to Deliver an Academic Lecture for School of History and Social Management

On the afternoon of December 3, Professor Shen Han from the Department of History, Nanjing University, was invited by our university to make an academic report entitled "Some New Thoughts on the History of Capitalism" in classroom 242, Bowen Building. More than 160 people from the School of History and Social Management, including chief leaders, teachers and students, listened to the report.

Professor Shen Han focused on eleven issues in the study of the history of capitalism, including the formation of world markets, the role of commerce in the origin of capitalism, the development of British capitalism in the 16th century, the continuity and discontinuities of early capitalist development, contemporary research on capitalism, the relationship between state monopoly capitalism and 20th-century capitalism, the crisis of capitalism and wealth growth, etc. Professor Shen Han expounded the history of capitalism with his broad vision, informative data, and a large amount of statistics, and put forward unique insights on major relevant issues, which will help us fully and objectively understand the history and development trends of capitalism. Finally, Professor Shen Han provided patient and in-depth answers to students' questions. With the warm applause of all teachers and students, the academic report successfully concluded.
